Summer (May to October) – Best Overall Weather

Daytime highs range from the 60s to 80s°F (15–27°C) — warm but not too hot thanks to the high elevation. The clear skies are ideal for hiking, biking, exploring downtown, and visiting nearby attractions like the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and Meteor Crater. July to early September brings monsoon season — expect afternoon thunderstorms, which can be intense but brief. Mornings are usually clear.

Bonus: The mountain forests around Flagstaff are especially beautiful in June (wildflowers) and October (fall colors).

Winter (November to March) – Great for Snow Lovers

Highs in the 30s to 50s°F (0–10°C) with regular snowfall. Flagstaff becomes a winter sports hub, with Arizona Snowbowl ski resort just 30 minutes away — perfect for skiing, snowboarding, and snow play. 

Spring (March–April) can still be chilly and unpredictable, with snow occasionally lingering into April.
